Editorial
Policy
The
Girly Comic is self-published and I do not expect it to
make a profit. Any profit that is made will be used to fund
the next issue of the comic. Therefore, please be aware
that you will not be paid for any work that you submit,
but you will receive a free contributor's copy. I am hoping
to use the comic to promote other work by the contributors.
Any work submitted will remain the copyright of the original
creators, with The Girly Comic having first print publication
rights and the right to reprint the strip in the event of
bringing out trade paperbacks of the comic.
The
Girly Comic aims to be suitable for teenagers upwards, and
does not intend to carry a mature readers warning. Therefore
submissions should not contain scenes unsuitable for that
age range. This does not mean that swearing, sex and violence
are banned as they are a part of life that people see everyday.
Just that if your submission involves them then it should
be because they are essential to the story and are dealt
with in a sensitive, rather than gratuitous, way.
Submissions
on any topic or from any genre are welcome as the comic
is aiming to have a diverse range of stories. However, all
stories must have a female main character or some
aspect that fits into a 'girly' theme.
I
am looking for original work, so please do not submit any
strips involving characters that are the copyright of another
creator or company. Also please do not submit work that
has already been used elsewhere.
Strips
should be self-contained stories and a maximum of seven
pages. The pages will be A5 size: 210 x 144mm and in black
& white. Strips shorter than seven pages are preferred!
